Use the steps below to update your MFA methods (Authenticator app, phone number, or backup methods) for your Keyano account.
Important
- If you are setting up MFA after a reset: use a new InPrivate window so old sign-in pages don’t interfere.
- Update your phone number if it has changed (new device, new SIM, new number).
- If you can’t sign in to update MFA, submit an IT ticket for an MFA reset.
Before you start
- Your Keyano username and password
- Your phone (if you are adding/changing a phone method)
- Microsoft Authenticator installed (if you are using the app method)
Step-by-step: Update your MFA methods
- Open a new InPrivate (or Incognito) browser window.
Tip: Edge (InPrivate): Ctrl + Shift + N | Chrome (Incognito): Ctrl + Shift + N
- Log into Keyano Webmail.
- Select your account icon in the top-right corner of the page.
- If you don’t have a profile photo, you’ll see your initials instead.
- Choose View account (or My account). This opens your Keyano/Microsoft account page.
- In the account page, select Security info (sometimes shown as Update info).
- If prompted, complete the sign-in verification step to continue.
- Do one of the following:
- Add a new method: select Add sign-in method.
- Change a phone number: select the phone method, then Change or Update.
- Remove an old method: select the method, then choose Delete (trash icon).
- Set your preferred method as the default:
- Select Change next to Default sign-in method and choose your preferred option.
- Sign out, close the InPrivate window, then sign back in once to confirm your updated method works.
Recommended MFA setup
- Primary: Microsoft Authenticator (App)
- Backup: Phone (text or call)
- Keep at least two methods so you don’t get locked out if you change phones.
Troubleshooting
- I don’t see “Security info”
Try a different browser, or repeat the steps in an InPrivate window. The page labels can vary slightly.
- It keeps looping or showing an old prompt
Close all browser windows, then start again in a new InPrivate window.
- I can’t access my current MFA method
Submit an IT ticket and request an MFA reset so you can re-register a new method.
Note: MFA changes apply to your Keyano account sign-in, including services like email and learning systems.
