Introduction
This article outlines the responsibilities and support procedures related to Information Technology Services (ITS) during exam periods to ensure a smooth and efficient examination process for students and faculty.
Procedure
Pre-Exam Preparation by Students:
- Students must log in to their student accounts before their exams to prevent any issues related to passwords or multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Personal devices should be fully charged, updated, and tested for connectivity to the college's Wi-Fi network before the exam begins.
- Students should perform all necessary checks on their devices well in advance of exams to avoid last-minute complications.
Pre-Exam Preparation by Faculty:
- Faculty should ensure their exam, and the delivery method are tested before the exam period.
- Faculty should inspect their assigned examination classroom/lab before the exam period and bring any concerns to the attention of ITS immediately.
ITS Support Availability:
- ITS staff will not be present in the examination rooms. However, they will be available for assistance at the designated location, CC-182.
- For troubleshooting issues with personal devices, students must bring their device to CC-182.
Support for Personal Devices:
- ITS support will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Technical assistance is limited to connectivity and access issues; ITS cannot assist with issues related to exam content, device incompatibility, or personal device hardware issues.
- Students are responsible for ensuring their devices meet the recommended specifications for their course, and any required exam software.
Support for Keyano College Devices:
- ITS staff will provide in-classroom support upon request if there is a technical issue with a Keyano College device during an exam.
Faculty Support During Exams:
- Faculty are encouraged to remind students of these guidelines during the classes leading up to the exams.
- Faculty can directly phone the ITS helpdesk for immediate assistance during exam times, bypassing the standard ticket submission process.
- This exception is made due to the time-sensitive nature of exams and is intended to address urgent technical issues that may arise.
