We're transitioning to Adobe Reader as our primary tool for PDF management to better align with user needs. Adobe Reader is a robust solution that extends beyond basic PDF viewing to include advanced features like annotation and digital signatures. Its user-friendly interface is enhanced by other capabilities such as compatibility with mobile devices and support for secure document sharing. This change aims to offer a more versatile and intuitive experience for PDF management to meet the diverse requirements of our users.

For users and business areas with specialized requirements for advanced PDF editing capabilities, Foxit PDF Editor will remain available on a limited basis. Certain areas have already been identified as requiring this software, and we will communicate this directly to them. If you believe that Adobe Reader does not meet your specific needs, please submit a support ticket outlining your business case. Our team will evaluate your requirements and, if justified, grant you access to Foxit PDF Editor.

Set Default PDF Application

During the transition, you may need to set your default PDF application. If so you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Adobe Reader
  2. You'll be prompted to "Always open PDFs in Acrobat Reader", select "Yes"

  3. A Windows pop-up should appear to select the default app, choose "Adobe Acrobat Reader" and click "Set default"

  4. Applications like Outlook may need to be restarted to reflect these changes
