Network Privacy:

While Keyano College places a high priority on privacy, it's important to note that the complete security of data transmitted over ‘The Network’ cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, exercising caution with sensitive information is advisable.

  • Use of VPN (Recommended): For added security and privacy when connecting to any public network or unsecured internet connection, it is strongly recommended that users employ a reputable Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN can encrypt your data, and protect your online activities from potential eavesdropping and unauthorized access. While Keyano College prioritizes security, using a VPN on public networks is an extra layer of protection that we encourage all users to consider.

  • Staff/Student Personal Devices: For personal devices used by staff and students, visiting the Keyano ITS Helpdesk is an option for "best-effort" technical support. Please note that support for personal devices is subject to technician availability and may be limited in scope.
  • Keyano-issued Devices: Staff and students using Keyano College-issued devices, including college-owned laptops, tablets, and smartphones, are required to submit a Helpdesk Ticket (TDX) for assistance with network or other technical issues. In urgent cases causing instruction to be disrupted, staff may also contact ITS by phone for immediate support.
